Care starts with understanding
Autoimmune skin disorder care in Tiruppur
Psoriasis and vitiligo are different conditions with different treatment goals. Discuss your symptoms and their effect on daily life with Dr. Akash K to plan ongoing care.
Psoriasis: managing inflammation
Psoriasis can affect the skin, scalp and nails. Assessment considers the areas involved, symptoms, severity, existing medicines and other health conditions. Tell the doctor about joint pain or stiffness, which may need further assessment.
Vitiligo: understanding loss of pigment
Vitiligo causes areas of pigment loss, but not every light patch is vitiligo. Examination helps establish the diagnosis and whether it is changing. Treatment goals depend on disease activity.
Connective tissue disorders
Connective tissue disorders, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and systemic sclerosis.
Follow-up and realistic expectations
Long-term conditions may improve and flare again. Treatment aims to control symptoms or pigment loss and support quality of life; a permanent cure is not promised. Attend recommended follow-ups and do not change prescribed medicines without discussing the plan with your doctor.
Questions before you book
Are psoriasis and vitiligo contagious?
Neither psoriasis nor vitiligo is spread through ordinary contact. However, a new rash or light patch needs assessment to establish its cause.
Do we suggest biologic medicines?
Yes. For psoriasis, suitability depends on severity, previous response, other conditions and safety screening.
Can vitiligo be permanently cured?
There is currently no guaranteed cure. Some treatments may help restore pigment or manage progression, but response varies and pigment can be lost again.

Bring previous prescriptions, reports and photographs showing changes. Mention other medical conditions, joint symptoms and all medicines you use.
Discuss a plan for your concerns
